I've concluded the sea is desperately
untidy. I can just imagine God telling it to 'GO AND TIDY YOUR COASTLINE!'

Sea and rocks exist on a different timescale to us. They were there for aeons before we turned up and I guess their endless struggle might go on for aeons after we've gone.
