This one's amazingly
plausible. Girl falls in love with boy at school whilst helping him to solve the mystery of his origins and nationality. Turns out he's a hero of the x-men type without knowing it. |
WHAT?!?!?!? A supernatural war novel set on top of a church squire and in burger-infested dustbins involving a murder, supernatural evil alien life forms (presumably in the burger dustbins), and written on the side of a tent. THAT'S ENOUGH!!! |

Definitely a fantasy
this one: A ghost books a Caribbean cruise only to find the ship is captained by a talking philosophical elephant who reflects at length on the tortured history of mankind. The ghost is so depressed it wants to kill itself, but it can't as it's already dead. |
Orbiting Martian spaceship tracks globe-trotting goblin and side-kick chicken as they pursue an international criminal gang. After many close scrapes, including a near miss when the goblin nearly had a an autopsy whilst still alive, they find the mastermind behind the gang is a dinosaur hiding out in the woods. |
